3 reasons why success can feel just out of reach

Do you feel that you’re always on the edge of success? Or that success is always just around the corner, but you can never quite get there?

What does success truly mean to you? Is it more money? Is it more clients? Is it completing projects? Is it more love and friendships?

I read something this week that said “there are poor successful people and there are rich unsuccessful people”

It really struck me, that success is different for each of us. It doesn’t boil down to just 1 factor, but is most certainly includes how we feel.

Success can be found in your small accomplishments, the small steps along the way that propels you to the next steps along the journey.

But for most of us we don’t acknowledge the steps along the way.

So what, then, makes us feel that success is always just out of reach?

Firstly, you’re probably not truly clear about your bigger vision and why you want to achieve it. Being clear on WHY you want something – anything – in life will motivate you to getting there quicker. The reason you want to do something has to be really important to you.Really really important! If it isn’t you just won’t get there.

Secondly, you’re probably coming from a place of lack. You’re possibly so focused on where you’re heading that you are missing all the successes and ‘wins’ along the way. Stop for a moment and acknowledge exactly where you are right now and what you’ve been through to get here.

For me, my journey is ever evolving. My vision for the next 6 months isn’t even something that I’d have thought about 6 months ago. I always take time to reflect on where I’ve been and acknowledge where I am right now

Lastly, you’re possibly taking a bunch of random actions. We’re all busy being busy, but probably very little of what you’re doing is getting you closer to your vision. Think about that for a moment. All the things you’re busy with… are they actually getting you closer to where you want to go? Or are they distracting you??

So, what can you do then instead?

  1. Get clear. You need to become really clear on where you are right now and where you want to be in the next 4-6 months. Spend 2-3 minutes writing them down. Where you really want to be in 4-6 months? Get really clear on what you want (not what you don’t want) and why you want it.
  1. Get generous. Start living from a place of abundance, even if you don’t feel you have much. Give generously with your time, your attention, your love. Give with a generous heart – it costs nothing and you stimulate gratitude so that abundance starts to flow your way.
  2. Take aligned action. What do I even mean by that? I mean only take action that’s taking a clear step towards where you want to go. Stop getting distracted by all those jobs that make you feel you’re accomplishing something and keep you busy. This is not what’s going to get you closer to your desired outcome.

Remember: Start small and build from there.

Much love,
